Directions to the Institut de Chimie Radicalaire

From Marseille Saint Charles (the central train station), you can reach the institute by taking the Metro (line 1) until Frais Vallon stop. There, you take the bus B3 (direction St Jérôme Parking Relais). Get out at St Jérôme Faculté stop (the bus ride takes ~5 minutes).

You can buy the ticket with a contactless bank card on the metro or bus.

The ICR building is indicated in the map below. Go to building door BJ5. My office is on the 4th floor (Service D42).

How to get to Marseille

If you arrive at the Marseille-Provence Airport (MRS), the most convenient way to reach the city center is by bus. It departs every 15 minutes and goes to the central train station in the city center (Marseille Saint Charles) without stopping. The trip takes about half an hour (under normal traffic conditions).

You can buy the ticket with a contactless bank card on the bus.

Uber and taxis are also an option. The ride to the city center will cost about 50 – 70 euros.

Hotel

I recommend

It’s in a nice area, full of restaurants and services.

Some convenient hotels near Saint Charles station are:

You may also stay near the Vieux Port, the touristic heart of Marseille. St Charles is a 15-minute walk (or one metro stop away).

You may consider AirBnB, too. Look for places near the Vieux Port or Canabiere (13001).

WiFi connection on-site

You can connect to WiFi on the campus through the Eduroam network.

Don’t forget to set up your Eduroam account before coming to Marseille!

Public transport in Marseille

The public transport company of Marseille, RTM, can be accessed at:
http://www.rtm.fr/en Google Maps also displays the transport schedule.

You can pay for public transport with your bank card if it has a contactless option activated.

Tickets can also be bought at any metro or tram stop. A single ticket allows you to use the metro, buses, and trams for 1 hour.
